Predictions: The Rise of Evans Football

  • Aug. 19, Kickoff Classic vs. University (Home): In the Colosseum, and with Trojanland out in full force,  I think Coach Lang can have the Trojans ready to compete, and win, before district play starts.
  • Aug. 26, Lyman (Home): Last year, Trojans marched into Lyman for the win, 13-10. This season, Evans has the talent to outpace the Greyhounds at home, (1-0).
  • Sept. 2, Boone (Away): This is a tricky one. Again, it comes down to execution for Evans. Defense has never been a problem for Trojans, but offense will have to make the difference in this duel. If this game was at home, I would be more confident, (1-1).
  • Sept. 9, Ocoee (Home): The latest edition of the ‘Clarke Road Clash’ (unofficial), however the on-field contest has been far more one sided in the last three years, than the battle of the bands. While the Green Machine Marching Band never loses, I see the status quo remaining intact, and Ocoee probably wins it’s third straight vs. Evans, (1-2).
  • Sept. 16, Seminole (Away): Respectfully, our young team is not ready to challenge last year’s State Champs at home. And it’s likely that we’ll see Bokey repeat at year’s end. But, if Evans can show up, they should be applauded, (1-3).
