Coach Simmons’ Dark Cloud Defense was in rare form for homecoming, dismantling the visiting Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions, 27-6.
A HOME DEFENDED
There are bits of the Lions all over Tallahassee this morning.
And that’s not just my personal loyalties speaking: FAMU’s defense crushed the Golden Lions, holding them to only 193 total yards. UAPB only managed 20 rushing yards on 17 carries, blockaded by the likes of Johnny Chaney Jr., and Javan Morgan. But, despite the misleading final score, the Golden Lions offense never actually scored a single point during their time at Rattler homecoming.
A garbage-time interception-and-score provided the only comfort afforded to the Lions all night long.

The Rattlers also added three sacks total, featuring two from the 2021 Buck Buchanan Award winner, redshirt senior Isaiah Land. Former Ocoee High School standout Kendall Bohler also recorded his second interception of his redshirt sophomore season.
To no surprise, we have a Bohler interception!

THE STREAK STRIKES AGAIN
As celebrations continue to rock Florida’s capitol city, the Rattlers improve to (6-2) on the season.
FAMU remains undefeated at home for another week. However, they can’t afford to be complacent, after the celebrations are over. A dangerously motivated Southern University team visits Bragg Memorial Stadium, at the end of the week. Southern will be hunting for redemption, after suffering an embarrassing shutout on College Gameday at the hands of Jackson State.
But for now, let the good times roll.
Next, Southern University (5-3) visits Bragg Memorial Stadium on Nov. 5th.
