Magic definitely gave this game away. The Magic swept the Oklahoma City Thunder for a while until they allowed the Thunder to mount a comeback to win, 116-108. The Thunder was trailing by as many as 15 points in the second half. Unfortunately, this was all avoidable. Magic had 24 turnovers that changed the momentum of the game in favor of the Thunder.
After missing the last five games due to an ankle sprain, Suggs was back on the court. Terrence Ross, on the other hand, left the court early after suffering a knee contusion. It seems like every time we gain one player on the Magic’s team we lose another to an injury.
Despite a strong shooting performance by the Magic, Jalen Suggs’ return, and Wendell Carter Jr.’s career-high-matching night, the night was still spoiled.
However, don’t let me get you down though, it was still an impactful game for some of the Magic players.
Carter had 30 points on 10-for-15 shooting, making 2 of 2 three-pointers and 8 of 8 free-throws, in addition to 12 rebounds. Wagner scored 20 points and recorded seven assists. In spite of scoring under 20 points for the second game in a row, Banchero scored 18 points on 6-for-13 shooting. Bol scored 13 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, and blocked four shots. Suggs had nine points on 3-for-14 shooting, including 1-for-9 from deep, in 28 minutes off the bench in his return.
