Browns vs Dolphins:

It is time to put Tua Tagovailoa’s name in the NFL MVP conversation.   Ever since Tua has come back from that unfortunate concussion several weeks ago, he has played like a man possessed.   He steered the team to a 39-17 win over the Cleveland Browns.   Tua Tagovailoa was 25 of 32 for 285 yards and three touchdowns.   He had a quarterback rating of 135.0.

Tua with another stellar performance against the Browns. He’s firmly in the MVP race!

The Cleveland Browns made a statement in the opening drive of the game as they marched down the field and to the endzone next to a 1 yard TD pass from Jacoby Brissett to Harrison Bryant.   However, the Dolphins would respond with a 10 play, 84 yard TD drive on the next possession.   The Dolphins would actually score 24 unanswered points.

The Dolphins would put up nearly 500 yards on offense against an overmatched Cleveland Browns defense   The Dolphins would up 195 total rushing yards on the Brown.   Jeff Wilson had 119 yards and a touchdown while Raheem Mostert had 65 yards  and a touchdown himself.

In terms of the passing game, Tua’s targets extended beyond his usual suspects Tyriek Hill (5 receptions, 44 yards, 1 TD) and Jaylen Waddle (4 receptions, 66 yads)

Alec Ingold had 4 receptions, 45 yards and 1 touchdown while Trent Sherfold had 4 receptions, 63 yards and 1 touchdown.    Overall, Tua threw to 9 different receivers.   He continues to lead the league in passer rating with a 82.6 QBR.

Seahawks vs Buccaneers:

In a game that Tom Brady called “one of the great football experiences that he’s ever had”, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers reached .500 with a 21-16 win over the Seattle Seahawks.    The Buccaneers would jump out to a 14-0 win lead at halftime thanks to a 31 yard touchdown pass from Tom Brady to Julio Jones and a 1-yard touchdown run by Leonard Fournette.

Seattle would finally get on the scoreboard with a 55 yard field goal by Jason Myers.   However, the Buccaneers would extend the lead in the fourth quarter with a 11 play, 87 yard drive that ended with a 4 yard TD pass from Brady to Godwin.

The Seahawks would make it interesting as they scored 13 fourth-quarter points thanks to a 21 yard TD pass from Geno Smith to Tyler Lockett and a 19 yard TD pass from Smith to Marquise Goodwin.    Geno Smith threw for 275 yards and 2 touchdowns.  He had a QBR rating of 115.1.

However, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense shut down Kenneth Walker III.  They held him to just 17 yards on 10 carries.   Meanwhile, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’s rushing attack thrived thanks to Rachaad White and Leonard Fournette.   Rachaad White rushed for 22 carries and 105 yards while Leonard Fournette had 14 carries for 59 yards.  The rushing attack helped Tampa Bay to win the time of possession battle by over 10+ minutes.  Brady threw to several different receivers.

The Buccaneers appear to be gaining momentum.  They are in 1st place in a subpar division. The rest of the NFC South may regret giving this team enough time to recover from it’s struggles.

Jaguars vs Chiefs

The Jaguars are simply not ready for a team like the Kansas City Chiefs at this point.   Although the final score was 27-17, the game was never really in doubt after the Chiefs scored the 1st 20 points of the game.

Mahomes threw for 331 yards and 4 touchdowns. All 4 touchdowns were to different receivers.  One of the touchdowns was to Kadarius Toney.  It was Toney’s 1st TD of his career.

The Jaguars’s defense would force 3 Kansas City turnovers.  However, the Jaguars’s offense.  would squander one opportunity after another.  In particular, the Jaguars recovered an onside kick to start the game, but ended up putting.   On the next possession, the Chiefs would turn the ball over via fumble.  However, the Jaguars would punt as well.

Trevor Lawrence had 259 yards and 2 TDS in a losing effort. Both TDs we’re thrown to Christian Kirk.
