Xavier Weaver, a former standout from South Florida, made a statement on social media revealing his decision to transfer to Colorado.
Standing at 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Weaver is the second wide receiver from USF to relocate to CU this winter, with former teammate Jimmy Horn Jr. already making the move to Boulder. 247Sports.com has graded their transfer class as the highest in the nation.
During the past season, Weaver was a standout performer for USF and was subsequently awarded with second-team All-American Athletic Conference recognition. He had the most catches (53), receiving yards (718) and touchdowns (six) on the team despite participating in only nine of the twelve games.

Coming in at second on the team, Horn recorded a total of 37 receptions for 551 yards, as well as three touchdowns. Horn was able to join the team at CU in January, while Weaver is set to come in during the summer.
Weaver, a student in their fifth year of college, is taking advantage of the NCAA’s decision to extend eligibility for all players from the 2020 season due to the coronavirus situation.
During his four-year career at USF, Weaver established himself as one of the top receivers in school history. He was involved in 40 games, 21 of which he was a starter, and made 116 receptions for 1,735 yards and 8 touchdowns. Weaver stands fourth in the Bulls’ all-time leaderboard for receiving yards and is sixth in career catches. Additionally, he was the team’s leading receiver in the past two campaigns.
Weaver, who graduated from Orlando Christian Prep in Florida, was a highly sought after recruit in 2019 with 16 offers to his name. This past winter, Oklahoma and West Virginia joined the list of schools vying for the three-star prospect, along with the University of Colorado.
This winter, Weaver became the twenty-fifth individual from a four-year institution to switch to the University of Colorado.
