“THAT WAS EASY”
In the latest edition of the Orange Blossom Classic in Miami, the Florida A&M Rattlers finally avenged two years of humiliation, stunning the reigning conference champion Jackson State Tigers, 28-10.
In their first SWAC contest since the exit of “Coach Prime” Deion Sanders, the Tigers entered the annual match-up as the reigning champions, having dispatched the Rattlers in both of their previous season-opening engagements. Last years’ contest saw the Tigers shutout the Rattlers, 59-3, enroute to the conference championship. Aside from bragging rights, winning this game will likely determine the eventual conference championship, and the Celebration Bowl.
Sunday afternoon in Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, a lethal dose of FAMU’s rushing attack proved too much for the Tigers. Led by Terrell Jennings (Mandarin HS, Jacksonville) and Jaquez Yant (Godby HS, Tallahassee); the Rattler offense was unstopped for much of the day, reinforced by quarterback Jeremy Moussa.

Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball, the Rattlers nearly returned the favor to JSU, locking the Tigers out of the endzone for three quarters. With their first win of the season, the Rattlers face the South Florida Bulls on Sept. 9th, in Tampa Bay.
