UCF wide receiver Javon Baker is steadily rising on several mock draft weeks before the NFL Draft on April 27-30.
Following a stellar final year at UCF which saw him leading the Big 12 in receiving yards (1,139), Baker continues to bolster his draft stock by putting together an impressive showing at the NFL scouting combine.
The 22-year-old Baker performed well on several drills at the combine, including a 4.54 time on the 40-yard dash. The UCF alumnus also showed scouts he could run complicated routes featured in most NFL teams’ playbooks.

Baker’s stride will not go unnoticed. Many football analysts have already ranked him highly among the wide receivers eligible for this year’s selection.
CBS Sports NFL Draft expert Chris Trapasso placed Barker at No.3 behind projected first-rounder Marvin Harrison Jr. and Malik Nabers on the top available wide received in the 2024 NFL Draft.

According to SB Nation writer Gavalon, Baker emerges as a viable draft target for the Washington Commodores because he provides the team with a wideout with a decent size and ability to make big plays. The writer added that the former UCF star could fill the role as the third wide receiver for the team with mainstay Curtis Smith hitting the free agency market this offseason.
