Not a day has gone by since the start of the free agency window that the Buccaneers have stood idle. Today is no exception as Tampa Bay filled two key needs at both cornerback and offensive guard. Tampa’s front office acted quickly after both players visited with the team during the busy beginning to the League business year.
Former Giants Guard Ben Bredeson was drafted out of the University of Michigan by Baltimore in the fourth round of the 2020 draft. Moving on to the Giants after his rookie year, he has been with New York for the last three seasons. Bredeson is listed as 6’5″ and 315 lbs and comes into Tampa on a 1-year deal worth a maximum of $3.5 million. Bredeson started all but one game last year and bolsters a position that the Buccaneers are in need of.

In addition to the former Giants’ guard, the Buccaneers also hosted and now have signed former New York Jets’ cornerback Bryce Hall. Hall was drafted by the Jets in 2020 with their fifth round pick. He started in nearly every game his first two seasons, yet only appeared in nine games in 2023, starting only twice. In 2022, with the drafting of All-Pro Sauce Gardner, the direction of the Jets’ defense shifted, lowering the playing time of Hall, leading to him visiting with teams this off-season.
The Bucs and Bryce Hall have agreed to terms on a one year deal, also worth up to $3,500,000. Hall will compete for a starting role during OTA’s and training camp after the Bucs lost defensive back Carlton Davis III earlier this week in a trade with the Detroit Lions.
