Buccaneers getting ready for Draft with prospect visits

With 3 weeks remaining until the 2023 NFL Draft, the Buccaneers are hard at work prepping their staff for official visits with several notable college football prospects. Below is a non-exhuastive list of some names to know.

WR Keon Coleman (Florida State)
This list wouldn’t be much without leading it off by mentioning the former Florida State & Michigan State standout, Keon Coleman. He put himself on scouts’ radars right away this past college season with a jaw dropping performance in Week 1 against LSU. He caught 9 balls for 122 yards and three touchdowns that day in September and if he makes it into the latter part of Day 1 without being selected, this would be a no-brainer for the Buccaneers.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers plan to bring in former #FSU star wide receiver Keon Coleman in for a top-30 visit.

Defensive Tackle Byron Murphy II (Texas)
His official scouting report on the NFL’s website calls Murphy a “muscular ball of explosiveness”, which is about as accurate as one can describe him. Listed at 6’0″ tall and 297 lbs, he is lightning quick off the ball and has good reaction timing to what’s in front of him. Potential to be a good nose tackle or 3-technique with elite football pedigree have Murphy high on alot of Draft boards, including Tampa’s.

WR Malachi Corley (Western Kentucky)
Do NOT let the small school fool you, Corley can flat out play. Turn on Corley’s tape and it looks as if you’re watching a young Deebo Samuel. He was used heavily as Western Kentucky’s main offensive weapon, with an amazing ability to get yards after the catch and run through contact. He could definitely use some work on his route running but that could be said about most young wideouts. He is an Orange City, Florida native meaning he would probably welcome a chance to play near his hometown. In a Draft stacked with elite WR talent, Corley might be a good option for the Buccaneers.

Tight End Tip Reiman (Illinois)
At 6’4″ and 271 lbs, Reiman wowed scouts at the Combine running a 4.64 in the 40 yard dash and boasted a 10 ft. 1 inch broad jump. He’s an athletic freak, reminiscent of Gronk several years back. Baker Mayfield would certainly not fight you if you tried to give him a huge bodied security blanket at Tight End in one of the middle rounds.

These are just a few of the official prospect visits the team will hold over the next couple of weeks before team activities begin. It’s important to note that a 30 visit doesn’t necessarily mean a team wants to or will draft a player, as there is alot of gamesmanship that goes into this process as well, considering no team wants other teams knowing what they’re thinking on Draft Night, especially if the two teams have eyes on the same positions or players. We will have more on visits and other Draft news as it rolls in.
