Hailed from Senegal, the 7-foot Diallo will beef up the Spurs’ Summer League roster that features Stephon Castle, the No.4 overall pick in this year’s draft, Nathan Mensah, and Sidy Cissoko.
Diallo split his first four seasons with Ohio State and San Jose State before transferring to UCF to play his final year of eligibility. With the Knights, the big man averaged 6.3 points and 5.6 rebounds per game while carving a reputation for being an intimidating defensive presence in the paint.
He averaged 1.78 blocked shots per game and led the Big 12 Conference from Nov. 19-Dec. 29 and then again from Jan. 2 through the remainder of the season.
Diallo’s hard work paid off as he finished his career as an All-Big 12 honorable mention.
