Big news for UCF fans! Jamarrion Gordon has flipped his verbal commitment from Alabama to UCF.
Gordon, a 2026 four-star defensive back from Jackson High School in Alabama, made the switch ahead of UCF’s signature summer recruiting event, and it’s creating quite a buzz. This move leaves Alabama with just one commit for the 2026 class, while UCF scores a major win.

Standing at 6-0 and weighing 174 pounds, Gordon was a key player in Jackson’s impressive 11-1 season and second-round berth in Alabama’s Class 4A playoffs last fall. Over his two varsity seasons, he has racked up 72 tackles, three tackles for loss, two interceptions, and 10 pass breakups.
According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Gordon is the No. 217 overall recruit in the country for the 2026 cycle. On3 Sports ranks him 205th overall and 21st among cornerbacks.
In a phone interview, Gordon shared his confidence in UCF’s coaching staff: “I believe in (cornerbacks coach Trovon) Reed and (head coach) Gus (Malzahn). I believe they will put me in the NFL. … Coach Reed did it before, and he already knows what I’m trying to do and what I’m going through.”
Gordon initially committed to Alabama on May 18 but visited UCF’s campus last month. After returning for the annual Knight Splash event, he decided to flip his commitment to the Knights. He joins his high school teammate, wide receiver Keeyun Chapman, as the first members of UCF’s 2026 class. The Knights are also eyeing other talented Jackson athletes, including quarterback Landon Duckworth, who recently decommitted from another school.
Only 21 FBS programs currently have multiple 2026 commits, according to 247Sports. UCF is on the rise, with 19 commits for 2025, a class currently ranked 24th nationally.
