FIBA World Cup Champion Germany looks for their second straight win of the tournament against Brazil in the men’s basketball competition at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Germany showed everybody whey they are the reigning world champ after outgunning Japan 97-77 on Saturday.
Orlando Magic star Franz Wagner spearheaded his team’s offense by scoring 22 points on 52.9 FG%, while his brother, Moritz, added 15 markers. Daniel Theiss went perfect from the floor, finishing with 18 points on 7-for-7 shooting in the blowout win.
Meanwhile, Brazil had a rough first-day opponent against the host country, France. The South Americans had no answer for France’s towering frontline duo of Rudy Gobert and Victor Wembanyama, who finished with 19 points in his Olympic debut.
Cristiano Felicio and Leo Meindl scored 14 points each for Brazil, who caught the last bus to Paris after winning the Olympic qualifier in Latvia three weeks ago.
Germany will be cruising to another big win over Brazil, and I am confident about that prediction. The Wagner brothers plus Theiss will be too much for Brazil’s traditional frontline, while Dennis Schroder is going to do his job as the team’s main facilitator and slasher.
Brazil will have to bring out their A-game if they wish to make this a competitive matchup—our betting prediction for Germany vs. Brazi: Germany Wins.
