On one side of the coin, FAMU’s football program is trending upward. Following the announcement of an exclusive partnership with Lebron James, last year’s FCS Playoff berth, and the news of FAMU’s latest NFL Draft standout Markquese Bell‘s signing with the Dallas Cowboys.
Most qualified opinions from around HBCU football anticipate that this will be the season that Head Coach Willie Simmons, going into his sixth year at the helm, finally puts all the pieces together for the resurgent Rattlers. He has a talented, young quarterback in graduate transfer Jeremy Moussa; and key starters returning from last year’s roster Senior Cameron Covin, and leaders of the defense, Orlando star B.J. Bohler, and Isaiah Land.
Playing for us, not them.
On the other side of the coin, we have. Despite a worsening crisis in Tallahassee, enabled by the very officials who accompanied the team to Chapel Hill; FAMU Football shocked many with a spirited performance.
According to HBCU Sports, The university currently employs Michael Smith as interim athletic director since it parted ways with Kortne Gosha in April.
