A HAMMERING IN HARD ROCK
Typically, ‘Florida State v. Miami’ is one of college football’s most exciting match-ups.
These two teams are often equally matched, know each other very well, and represent fan bases that can’t stand each other. And, even when one team is having a down year, they’ll still fight each other hard. Afterall, before this year, there had only been two blowouts between them. That count rose to three on Nov. 5th, when the FSU offense unloaded an onslaught of 454 total yards on their hated rival’s home turf.
Florida State’s electrifying offense could not be stopped, and Miami’s never got started.

PLAYMAKIN’ NOLES
A near perfect night for FSU saw starting quarterback Jordan Travis complete 10 of 12 passes for 202 yards and three touchdowns. Redshirt sophomore Trey Benson contributed 128 yards on 15 carries with a pair of scores, as he gashed Miami at will. Redshirt senior Ontaria Wilson caught a 56-yard touchdown on the first drive of the game. In fact, it was Wilson’s third touchdown of the season (11th of his career), the most receiving touchdowns in the Seminoles’ receiver room.
Miami (4-5) could only manage 188 years on the day, with all three quarterbacks struggling against the Seminole’s defensive attack. A fumble recovery late in the third quarter by redshirt sophomore standout Jared Verse was the preverbal spear to the heart, ending the Hurricanes’ final real chance to regain some momentum.
“Every time you have a big emotional game and rivalry on the road, to go down and play like we did it was definitely big for the program.”
