Baylin Epic Journey at Florida State Pro Day: Talking to NFL Teams and Living the Dream
Baylin Trujillo’s journey from a collegiate football star at USF & Webber International University to a respected trainer and coach is a story of passion, perseverance, and transformation. Graduating in 2014 with a degree in Sports Business Management, Trujillo was part of the team’s first-ever conference championship during his senior year, marking a historic milestone for the program.
Shortly after college, in January 2015, Trujillo founded his training business (BTru Quarterback Training), and returned to his roots at Oak Ridge to serve under his mentor, Coach Elijah Williams. His role as a quarterback coach marked the beginning of his dual career as a coach and entrepreneur. During this period, Trujillo continued to sharpen his skills and utilized emerging social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram to promote his training sessions.

His online presence caught the eye of professional arena football scouts, leading to a stint with the Central Florida Jaguars in Lakeland. Despite being new to the arena game, Trujillo excelled, earning MVP honors at an all-star game and later signing with the more established Lakeland Tarpons.
Trujillo’s career took an exciting turn when he participated in a Florida State Pro Day, throwing for Nyquan Murray in front of scouts from all 32 NFL teams. This exposure led to conversations with several NFL teams and presented a potential gateway to the NFL. However, Trujillo chose to return to arena football with the Orlando Predators, where a hand injury in his final game prompted a pivotal decision.
Realizing his true passion lay in training rather than playing, Trujillo fully committed to his training business in 2019. His dedication quickly paid off, leading to national recognition and opportunities to work alongside former NFL players like Quincy Carter, Kurt Warner, Jeff Blake, and Charlie Ward in camps across the country as well as on his virtual school platform. These experiences have not only enriched his training programs but also expanded his network through appearances on podcasts and virtual schooling initiatives. Baylin has coached over 250 quarterbacks nationally wide, working 6 years with the nation’s #1 quarterback competition Elite 11, has trained over 50 college quarterbacks, and currently trains 4 of the top 10 2026 quarterbacks in the country.
