UCF Football alumni Tylan Grable and John Rys Plumlee reunite on the football field. Still, this time, they were playing against each other in a preseason game between the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday at Acrisure Stadium.
Herb Hand, the head coach of the Knights offensive line, proudly posted a photo on social networking site X of Buffalo Bills offensive tackle Grable and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback John Rys Plumlee standing next to each other moments after their first NFL preseason game.
Two of my all-time favorite DUDES living out their NFL dreams.

Grable and the Bills won the exhibition game 9-3 on August 18, but for UCF fans and the greater community, the photo of Grable and Plumlee represents a victory for the school.
Grable and Plumlee Battling for Roster Sports
The 24-year-old Grable was drafted in the 6th round (204th overall) by the Steelers in the 2024 NFL Draft after putting together a strong final season with Central Florida.
He was named honorable mention all-Big 12 and invited to the East-West Shrine Bowl and to the NFL Scouting Combine, where he registered impressive numbers. Grable is currently competing for a spot in the Bills’ offensive line.
Meanwhile, Plumlee was not selected in the 2024 NFL Draft, but the Steelers signed him as an undrafted free agent.
Plumlee, who completed 161 passes for 2,271 yards and 15 touchdowns in his final season with the Knights, is fighting for three positions (quarterback, wide receiver, and kicker) in an effort to make the Steelers’ squad.
Plumlee returned kicks for 43 yards on two attempts during the exhibition game last Sunday.
