FAMU VS. EVERYBODY
In a previous article, we covered the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s preseason predictions for how each program would finish the season. A prediction compiled anonymously by sports information staff and coaches from around the conference, somehow imaged a world where FAMU would not repeat as Celebration Bowl / HBCU National Champions at the end of this season. In fact, the conference voted that FAMU’s week six opponent, Alabama State, would finish in first place with the reigning champions as the runner up. Now, I addressed this gross disrespect, and disregard for reality, at the time.
But, sometimes you have to pop out, and bask on the validation of your insight. And that’s all this reaction is, so let’s run through the checklist.
THE SWAC
At 2-0, the Rattlers are comfortably sitting at first place in the conference. Literally every other program in the SWAC has already taken a loss, while FAMU’s record is pristine headed to Sept. 7th, visit to Miami in Hard Rock Stadium.

THE MEAC
After beating the brakes off Norfolk State and South Carolina State, FAMU is still the best team in the conference they left back in 2021.
