UCF continues to struggle offensively, falling to Cincinnati 20-11 in a penalty-filled game on Saturday. The Knights have now lost three straight games and are winless in the Big 12, with their last win coming against Cincinnati in 2022.
Quarterback Cam Fancher, filling in for the injured Tayven Jackson, started the game but was also knocked out with a back injury. Jackson returned as the second quarterback, but the Knights were unable to find their offensive rhythm.
Turnovers and penalties plagued UCF’s offense, with 10 penalties and failed conversions on fourth and third downs. Fancher finished with over 300 yards of total offense, including a season-high 102 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Despite a strong final drive that resulted in a touchdown, it was too little too late for the Knights as they fell to the Bearcats. UCF’s defense held strong for most of the game, but penalties proved costly in critical situations.
The Knights will look to turn things around as they continue conference play, with their next game against Tulane on October 16th.
