A seven-point halftime deficit became a much larger problem for Bethune-Cookman on October 10, when Alabama A&M seized control after the break and handed the Wildcats a 55–17 defeat.
BCU trailed 17–10 at halftime in Huntsville, Alabama, but the Bulldogs outscored the visitors 38–7 over the final two quarters. Four Wildcats turnovers, including three in the second half, prevented the offense from keeping pace.
The loss left Bethune-Cookman at 3–3 overall and 1–1 in SWAC play. Alabama A&M improved to 5–2 and 2–1.
BCU had opportunities to settle into the game early. An interception by Keontae Byas helped create a scoring chance that ended with Aiden Lanier’s 26-yard field goal. Later, Rashon Brown’s touchdown run brought the Wildcats within 14–10 before Alabama A&M added a field goal as the first half expired.
The Bulldogs then produced the decisive stretch. A 60-yard touchdown reception by Jarel Williams extended the lead early in the third quarter, and Alabama A&M eventually scored on six consecutive possessions.
The statistical gap reflected the second-half separation. Alabama A&M finished with 504 total yards, including 335 rushing yards, while BCU managed 236 total yards and just 26 through the air. The Bulldogs averaged eight yards per rushing attempt.
Brown remained a productive option for the Wildcats, carrying 22 times for 97 yards and a touchdown. Stephen Sparrow led BCU with 10 tackles.
The result exposed how little margin Bethune-Cookman had once turnovers interrupted its rushing offense. A competitive opening half gave way to an opponent that consistently finished drives and controlled the ground game.
