JT OVER THE TOPBIG PLAY ‘NOLES

Homecoming night was great to the City of Tallahassee, as both FSU and FAMU celebrated decisive wins over conference opponents.

Sports Club Florida was in the mix with the Rattlers’ festivities, and you can see all the excitement from our coverage on social media (shameless plug). Meanwhile, on the FSU side of town, the Seminoles swatted down their ACC rivals, Georgia Tech, 41-16.

JT OVER THE TOP

Florida State Quarterback Jordan Travis had one of the best games of his entire career.

FSU’s team captain from West Palm Beach ended the night with 642 yards of total offense, with a career-best 396 yards passing on a career-high afternoon 24 completions with three touchdowns, which also matched his single-game career-high point. Coach Mike Norvell had high praises for his redshirt junior, post-game:

“I thought Jordan Travis played maybe as good of a game as he’s played since he’s been here. His control, you see the work, you see the — I said it during the week in practice. He was almost angry in how he prepared, and it was impressive to see him carry that over. He threw for almost 400 yards. Had great command, control, had some missed opportunities that were left out there.”

BIG PLAY ‘NOLES

On the first play of the second quarter, Travis connected with redshirt sophomore Johnny Wilson on the longest pass of Travis’ career, and the longest catch for Wilson. It was FSU’s longest offensive play of the year and the longest reception for the ‘Noles since a 91-yard completion in the 2019 Sun Bowl.

Next, Florida State face instate rivals Miami, Nov. 5th in Hardrock Stadium.
