SWEET HOME, ALA(FAM)A
In the Southwestern Athletic Conference’s version of the classic ‘Florida-Alabama’ rivalry, FAMU has successfully survived both Alabama State, and Alabama A&M, this season. Previously, the Rattlers fell to AAMU, in Tallahassee last month. On Monday, the Ratters prevailed on their final visit of the season to Normal, Alabama, escaping the Bulldogs, 77-71.
SERIES BRAGGING RIGHTS
Like their classmates on the FAMU football team, Coach McCullum’s program has had success while facing Alabama’s talent-rich, well-coached HBCU programs. Rattlers defeated the ASU Hornets twice this season, 69-58 and 60-54, respectively.
BIG TILLMON
Junior guard Jordan Tillmon dropped 22 points, in the highest scoring night of his college career. Alongside fellow Ratters’ Dimingus Stevens, Noah Meren, and Chase Barrs, Tillmon scored 10+ point each to lift FAMU ahead the Bulldogs, late in the second half.
