UCF Knights football kicked off their spring training activity on Monday to improve on the 6-7 record they compiled during their inaugural Big 12 run.
The Knights’ 2024 roster is shaping up to be formidable with wide receiver Kobe Hudson returning for his senior season and KJ Jefferson looking to fill the void left by quarterback John Rhyss Plumlee following a stellar career at Arkansas.
Hudson, who covered 900 yards on 44 receptions and 8 touchdowns last season, feels it’s his duty as a senior to take the lead for his young teammates and new faces on the team.
“It makes me want to be great. It makes me want to come out and do everything right every day. Just make plays every day. So the young guys can look up to me,” said Hudson, who will likely be the primary wideout target for Jefferson this coming season following the departure of Javon Baker.

Jefferson came in with an already decorated career at Arkansas. The 22-year-old quarterback shattered multiple records during his four-year tenure with the Razorbacks, becoming the program’s leader in passing yards, passing touchdowns, completion, and completion percentage.
The Outback Bowl and Liberty Bowl MVP could have declared for the NFL Draft and easily become one of the top prospects at the quarterback position this year. However, Jefferson might still have unfinished business and want to accomplish it with a different team.
“It was good. I had a little nervousness going out there. Didn’t know what to expect. But I got over it quickly,” Jefferson shared his experience in his first go-around with his new team.
