The Bucs convened Friday for the first of three days of Rookie Mini-Camp. Of the invitees are the Buccaneers’ seven players selected during April’s Draft, undrafted free agents from the NCAA, and a group of tryout players.
Through the weekend, various drills and assessments will be made, readying the young men for their impending joining of their veteran teammates throughout the summer during OTAs and preseason practice sessions. Coach Todd Bowles and new Offensive Coordinator Liam Coen have a myriad of talent to add to what is already a well made roster that won 9 games and a third consecutive NFC South title last year.

The offensive unit opened drills with first round pick Graham Barton at Center while Elijah Klein lined up at Right Guard. Interestingly enough, Florida A&M Quarterback Jeremy Moussa stood in as the signal caller.

Former Washington star WR Jalen McMillen fielded punts, signaling he may play special teams this coming year. He is a speedster that might bring some new life to the return game during the 2024 season’s new kickoff rules implementation. Safety Tykee Smith made quite an entrance on Day 1, intercepting a self-tipped pass across the middle of the field during live drills.

Running back Bucky Irving and OL Elijah Klein both signed their rookie deals on Friday. Numbers are not public yet, but we will provide updates on all seven 2024 Draft prospects detailed deals once all are finalized.
Without doubt, more impressions will be made throughout the weekend both by the Bucs’ draft class as well as the field of hungry undrafted players. We will keep you posted as developments take place here at Sports Club Florida on any movement with the Bucs’ roster.
